On My Way!

My main goal this year is to lose weight. I'm not going to say how much I weigh right now, although I probably will once I get to a comfortable weight, but since Sunday I've lost 6lbs! I realized that not only do I want to be healthy, I need to be healthy. So I cut out snacking, which was hard for me because I love to snack; however, I was never really hungry when I would snack. I also am watching my portions and stopping before I feel full so I don't get that bloated feeling. My next step is to eliminate Diet Coke (the only soda I drink).

I also started working out. Instead of snacking while watching TV, I march or jog in place. Yesterday I decided to sign up at Planet Fitness because it's only $10 a month and it's also the gym The Biggest Loser uses and I just got into that show. Today was my first day going and I only did a half hour but I will increase it each day. I did 10 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes on the treadmill. I could tell I'm out of shape because my legs were shaking by the time I was done.

One of the main reasons I want to lose weight is because I plan on having WLS. I decided on the vertical sleeve and in order to get the surgery done, I need to lose weight first. Another reason is that my best friend is getting married in April and I'm one of her bridesmaids. I definitely want to be healthier looking for the wedding and for the pictures.

I'm determined and motivated to lose weight this year and my journey starts now. :)
