Friday Weigh In?

I fail at posting on Wednesday for my weigh in but did want to check in with you all. I have officially lost 10lbs! I have done this in just under 2 weeks so I am very proud of myself. The best part about it is that people are noticing and commenting on how they can tell I've lost weight. I can't wait until I lose more and feel even better about myself.

Tomorrow I'm going to Capitola and going to a nice restaurant for my Grandmama's 85th birthday. Expect pictures and an update on Monday about it all!

The Sunday social will be posted tomorrow as well. Enjoy your weekend!

Wednesday Weigh In #1

So since I officially started my diet on Monday, I've lost a total of 4lbs. I'm sure it is all water weight but it makes me feel like I'm doing something right.

So what have I been doing? Well I am eating less (not starving myself but eating healthy portions). That was one of my biggest things is that I love to go back for seconds, even thirds. So I serve myself and eat what's on my plate and don't go back for seconds, even if I feel like I could eat more because I know I need to give my food a chance to digest and settle.

Another big thing is that I love to snack and that may be an understatement. I can snack right after eating a huge meal, which is not right. So I still snack but I've swapped out chips for grapes and popcorn for edamame. I'm also watching my serving size and calories.

Lastly, I've started walking a bit more. I'm not big into exercising but I love to walk. So during my lunch break, I walked to Whole Foods, which is about a 20 minute walk. I had a dentist appointment and instead of taking the elevator, I took the stairs. Just simple things but it is better than nothing!

I'm hoping to post a Wednesday weigh in every week. I think it will keep me honest and motivated.

Make A Change

If you have been following me in the past, you know I've been trying to lose weight. I have been considering weight loss surgery and have my doctor picked out and everything but he wants me to lose 10% of my body weight before I can get the surgery done. Sounds easy enough, right? Not so much. I was on Weight Watchers back in 2011 and lost 20lbs. I was feeling really great and then went on vacation, gained a little weight, lost motivation and put the 20lbs + a few extra since then. I've always been the "big" girl but I'm ready to make a change... for good.

I'm going to start little by little because if I go full force right away, I know that won't work for me. I'm going to start doing portion control and start walking every day. I also would like to eliminate soda (although I don't drink too much soda to begin with). I think I need to drink more water. I feel like if I make these changes, I should start to see a change within myself. I'm not expecting anything to happen over night because I 've been down this road before but I feel like if I do this without using a program, it will work for me.

Have any tips or anything for this journey? Let me know!

Now here is a picture of me now. The one on the left was a couple of weeks ago and the one on the right was back in April. I'm not going to say how much I weigh now but if I can get to my goal weight, I may post it.

New Beginnings

Follow my blog with Bloglovin So here we go...

I was kind of not liking my blog name anymore. I like it for my business but as a blog name, it no longer suited me so I decided to change it. Coming up with a blog name must be one of the hardest things to do but I did it and decided on Polka Dot Heart. What do you think?

My goal this year is to lose weight. I am in the process of trying to get WLS but in order to do that I need to lose 20lbs. I didn't realize how hard it would be. I am going to try and blog about that, as well as general life stuff.

My second goal this year is to be a better blogger and that starts now with this blog. I can't wait for this year and to see what great things happen!
